The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow

Antiques dealer Thomasina Bateman is writing a book about the barrows in England that documents the treasures that she discovers within. A mysterious letter invites her to the tiny town of Bewlay hidden in the remote countryside, she takes off on a train with her assistant one day late.
The mysterious man that summoned her to her rescue is missing upon her arrival. Her assistant never arrives. Landowners who are obstinately opposed to access to the barrow and even the residents are wary of the lady who is traveling alone and (gasp!) wears trousers.
Hob’s Barrow excavation is off with a rocky start. Thomasina is beginning to have bizarre visions…
